The Movement for Active Democracy is in it’s infancy. We are a small group who believe strongly in the possibility of tackling the biggest questions from ‘the inside’ at a stroke by removing the systems that have deliberately been put in place to foil change and prevent a fair sharing of power.
We understand that protesting is good and currently almost the only thing the people can do to effect decisions, however we think that having a political wing for any action group is also a good thing and presents greater, if longer term, opportunities for the people to have their voices not only heard – but listened to and acted upon.
We believe that a harmonious global society is achievable and that the problems of the many are being created by the actions, predominantly motivated by greed, of the few.
We believe that the majority of problems that perpetuate are being bandied by the Government as being impossible to solve but are in fact easily solvable if the greed orientated influences of the few are removed from the equation.
We have the simple belief that the majority of people wish for the same things, and so by embracing all the people to take control of the decision making processes we would create the opportunity to resolve many if not all of the outstanding problems of today.
At the re-writing of the Icelandic Constitution which embraced the opinions of one thousand five hundred randomly chosen people, the people voted openness, honesty, equality, fairness and love as the keys for a sustainably harmonious future for the country. We believe that the same priorities should be echoed here in the Britain.
We believe that most of the inequalities and crimes against mankind and the planet are being introduced purposefully by an elite few who have control over the Government to whom it dictates policy that serves only that elite class. This is achieved through a carefully devised organisation of civil servants and ‘think tanks’ such as Chatham House. Through party whipping, it also controls and curtails the thinking and voting power of all MP’s who form any Government.
As a result there can never be any significant changes to adjust for today’s conditions of planet demise or to combat spiralling poverty and inequality with the system operating the way it is.
We believe that no amount of peaceful protest will be able to effect the changes needed to bring about a true democracy.
We therefore intend change this from the inside by standing for seats in general elections on the sole mandate of getting this countries constitution changed, so that the people shall have an effective role to play in their country’s, and therefore their children’s, future.
